My wife Valerie and I want to take this opportunity to WELCOME you to the Shine Community! We have a passion for people and we are excited to see how God uses us and the SCC body to shine new light in the greater Archer Lodge/Clayton area.
Jason was raised in Greenville, NC and is a graduate of East Carolina University and holds a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jason served as missionary with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in Australia and the Solomon Islands and served as Pastor to Students at Hephzibah Baptist Church in Wendell, NC prior to becoming the Lead Pastor of Shine Community Church.
Jason and his wife, Valerie, have been happily married for 20 years and have four amazing children: Corban, Eden Lynn, Solomon, and Levi. They are excited for the journey of building relationships within the neighborhoods and community, engaging with people in everyday endeavors, develop teams and leaders and be a source of hope and light through leading and living for Jesus Christ.
Mike and his wife Nellie have been married for 40 years. They have two sons and one daughter, all of whom are married and have children - giving Mike and Nellie the blessing of being grandparents to nine children. Mike is excited to be serving the Lord at Shine Community Church and he can't wait to see what God will do through this church.
Mike and his wife Kelly have been married over 30 years and had the blessing of raising 3 sons (and now have the privilege of adding 2 daughters to the mix through marriage). Mike currently serves with the ACN Network as the Director of Leadership Development and Church Partnership and as an adjunct professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mike and Kelly have enjoyed being part of Shine Community Church since 2021 and look forward to seeing how God will lead His people to love God, love people, and advance the gospel in our community and around the world.
Doug and Brittany have been married for 3 years. They have a 1 year old named Micah! Doug likes to read and occasionally hike and Brittany loves to walk their dog and cook. Doug is finishing his M.Div. in Biblical Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is excited to get hands on experience on how to lead and care for people in the church....Also, They say GO WOLFPACK!
Rebecca and her husband, Phillip, have been married for 13 years. They are originally from Kansas City, MO, but have lived in the area for over 11 years. They have 5 boys. Two adult sons, Justin and Hunter, who live in Missouri, and three sons, Gavin, Logan, and Dylan, who are still at home and are homeschooled. They are new grandparents to triplets, 2 boys and a girl. They love to travel, especially to see their family. Rebecca loves kids and has worked with kids for several years whether they were in her Sunday School classroom or in her Classical Conversations classroom. She knows the Lord has made a way for her to share His love through her while equipping others to do the same.
Valerie and Jason have been married 20 years. They have 4 children, as seen above and 2 dogs and 1 cat. She loves numbers and creating graphics. Valerie is also a nurse, loves to travel, and her favorite color is turquoise!
